Founder & CEO

After spending five years as a paid political consultant, Matthew Solberg sought to be a part of something less political and more dynamic and called upon his childhood of reading comics and his teenage years of being a comic vendor to create Phoenix Comicon, an annual pop culture convention in Arizona entering its sixteenth year.  Square Egg Entertainment Inc is the parent company and management firm of Phoenix Comicon, Phoenix Fan Fest, Minnesota Fan Fest, and Keen Halloween.

JEN PALMER

Director of Operations

Originally a community liaison to Phoenix Comicon beginning in 2010 with her husband Lee (see picture to the right), Jen quickly moved up the ranks to Costuming Manager and then her role as Director of Operations in 2014.  Jen has a 15-year career of working directly with C-level executives and service partners that benefit our conventions on a daily basis.

Lee and his wife Jen (see photo to the left) began as the liaison to Phoenix Comicon and the Star Wars fan group The 501st.  In 2012 they stepped up as Costuming Manager before being selected as our Directors of Operation. Having spent over ten years as a Project Manager in the Construction Industry, Lee is at his best in assembling teams and see the successful final result, such as through our conventions.

Operations Manager

Kellie’s geekdom started as a child with the original Star Trek series, branched off into anime/manga, books and Star Wars as a teenager, and blossomed with video games, comics, movies and TV after working at a local comic store for many years.  Joining Phoenix Comicon Marketing Department in 2012, she quickly branched out to the Operations Department a few years down the road taking on the position the of Exhibitor Manager for Phoenix Comicon and Phoenix Fan Fest.

Director of Talent Relations

Erin’s ultimate passion for acting and her background as a local Arizona actress, helped her discover her second passion – Phoenix Comicon! Erin found her dream job and calling as our Talent Relations Director, working diligently to book all of our celebrities, artists, actors, and authors for our shows. She’s previously worked directly with actors as a handler and in a past life served as our Exhibitor Manager.

JOE BOUDRIE

Director of Programming

Joe’s first experience with Superheroes was meeting Captain America, Spider-Man and the Green Goblin after a stage show at the Toledo Zoo when he was seven. Years later Joe took on the mantle of many of his childhood heroes through cosplay including Archangel, Gambit, Spider-Man, The Flash, Robin and many others. A former Director of Business Intelligence for the Institute of Supply Manager, Joe has been with Phoenix Comicon since 2005 creating programming and content for over ten years as Director of Programming, first as a volunteer, and then as full time staff since 2015.

Director of Marketing, Sales & Public Relations

With over thirteen years of marketing experience, a Master of Science Degree in Business Management & Marketing, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Relations and Advertising, Kristin joined Square Egg Entertainment in 2016.  She spearheads our marketing, social media, PR, and street team efforts.  Kristin has fond memories of watching the Christopher Reeve Superman movies with her dad.

Marty has been with Square Egg Entertainment since 2012 and has worked for Phoenix Comicon as the Art Manager since 2010.  Being a visual person his bio is the shortest.
